What to do if it rains or snows or there is a strong wind?
As long as the lifts are working, our ski instructors are working too. Like our motto: “there is no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing”. Should somebody stay at home cause of that, then this day is “lost”. The day will neither be refunded nor can it be postponed to another day (There is a simple reason: The participant won't fit the group anymore).
What to do if my private ski equipment is not up to date?
If guest show up with inadequate equipment (for example: the skis are very old or in bad condition or the binding ist not adjusted), they can’t participate in the course until they have appropriate skis. There won't be any money refunded for missed course days. Intersport Pachleitner and Huber 2000, which are in village, both have the possibility to prepare your skis or to rent you new ones.

The best option is to book only one day with the option of extending it (extension per day per child costs 10€). If your child wants to ski on the next day/s, you can always extend on the same day with low risk. However, if you book for 5 days and your child doesn’t want to ski after the first day, or for any other reason, then we can't offer refunds.

Why should I book my course online?
While it was once common to book all courses and equipment upon arrival, we now strongly advise booking ski and snowboard courses well in advance. This also applies to private lessons, which we recommend reserving ahead of time. By doing so, you'll mitigate the risk of courses being fully booked or equipment being unavailable, especially during the peak season when demand is high. Online booking benefits both the ski school, allowing for better planning, and guests, who secure a guaranteed spot and may even receive a discount. Additionally, booking in advance provides ample time to address any inquiries, ensuring a seamless organization for a perfect winter holiday.
Do I also need to book in advance for group courses?
We highly recommend booking through our webshop, ideally as early as possible. Doing so offers numerous advantages. While there's typically space available in our group courses, during holiday periods, we cannot guarantee availability without prior online booking.
Is there also a course on Saturday and Sunday?
On Saturdays and Sundays, regular group courses are not available, except during the Christmas/New Year period, where courses are scheduled based on fixed dates starting on December 27th and January 2nd. We do offer weekend courses, but they follow different terms than our regular courses. Private lessons, however, are available on Saturdays and Sundays upon request at any time.
Do I have to book a 5-day course directly?
In terms of pricing, our 5-day course offers the best value. If you're unsure whether your child (aged 4 and above) enjoys skiing, you can initially book fewer days. Should they enjoy it, extending the booking for additional days is simple, with a prolonging charge of 10€ payable at our office. Please note that while extending is possible, reducing the number of booked days is not, and refunds are not provided.
Do the ski course days have to be on consecutive days?
YES. It makes sense to redeem the days consecutively, as the learning program builds upon each day. If children/adults skip a day, they may struggle to keep up with the course, which could result in a need to change groups. However, availability in lower-level groups is not guaranteed."
Is it possible to join a course during the week?
Beginner courses typically commence on Mondays (other days available upon request). Beginners cannot join a course already in progress mid-week. However, intermediate and advanced children have the option to join a course already in session from Tuesday to Wednesday.
Do you also have foreign language ski instructors?
We have an international team of ski instructors. Most of the ski instructors speak German and English. We also have sometimes instructors who speak Dutch.
On request, other languages can also be considered for private lessons (Croatian, Dutch, Czech,…)
Do I get my money back if I don't like the course I booked?
In essence, refunds are only provided upon presentation of a medical certificate from a local doctor (for illness or injury). Nevertheless, we offer various options (such as one-day courses or extensions for a nominal fee) to minimize any potential risks for you.
If, despite precautions, the situation doesn't improve, we offer the opportunity to convert your course into a private lesson. In this scenario, the remaining value of your course days will be credited, and any outstanding balance must be settled.
From what age can children join the ski course?
We offer group courses starting from 4 years old. Younger children can participate for one day initially, and if it goes well, parents can extend the booking (+10€ prolonging charge). Private lessons are available at any time. For children aged 7 and above, we recommend our Cool Kids course, running for 3 hours from 10 am to 1 pm. Snowboard courses have a minimum age requirement of 8 years old. The half-day course is 2 hours per day, from 10 am to 12 pm, open to children aged 4 to 15 years old.
Is the equipment for children included in the ski school price?
No. The sports equipment must be rented or purchased independently of the ski school. The SKI / SNOWBOARD EQUIPMENT can be rent in one of the following sport shops:

Is it bad if I have entered or booked the wrong group/skill?
At the assembly point, all groups are organized based on skill levels. Participants are questioned about their skiing abilities, and based on their responses, they are placed in the appropriate group course. Additionally, children are asked to ski through a slalom course where we assess their technique. Changing to another group is possible without any issues. If your child's skill level falls between two categories, it's advisable to choose the lower one. The only potential issue arises during off-peak seasons when we have smaller groups. In such cases, incorrect bookings may result in the unavailability of the appropriate group.
Can our children be in a group together?
The children are primarily divided according to their skiing ability and age. If the children have approximately the same level, they can of course also ski in the same group. Just let us know on the first morning when we form the classes. We will try our best. Our teachers are always taking measure on the lower level kid.
Is the ski pass included in the course price?
The ski pass is not included in the course price. Information and prices you can find here: www.hiwu.at

When will the final race take place?
The ski race is held on Friday mornings as part of the lessons, except on Christmas, when races take place on the 31st of December and the 6th of January in the morning. Participation in the ski race is integrated into the lessons. Children who choose not to actively participate in the race can opt to watch instead. Following the race, lessons continue as usual. Subsequently, the award ceremony takes place at the respective assembly point, the kids' park. Each child receives a certificate and a medal.

Is it necessary to book a 5-day course for children?
In terms of pricing, our 5-day course offers the best value. If you're uncertain whether your child, especially in the age range of 4-5 years as a beginner, will enjoy skiing, it's wise to book fewer days initially. That's why our booking options are flexible, ranging from 1 to 5 days.
If you book for just 1 day and your child enjoys it, you can visit our office by 13:30 on the same day to extend the course. We'll calculate the price difference plus a €10 prolonging charge. Additionally, the instructor will assess whether it's beneficial to extend the course after the first 2 hours.
Our program is structured over a week, including ski races and prize-giving on Friday mornings. Therefore, it's advantageous to participate in the full 5-day course. Nevertheless, attending for fewer days is also possible.
Do the ski course days have to be taken on consecutive days?

How far in advance do I need to book a private ski instructor?
